Ground conditions and typical properties
Cobham sits partly on greensand and partly on clay, and the drainage specification changes with it. The clay pockets hold water through winter and move with the seasons, which is the ground that decides whether a patio or wall stays put. On the greensand areas drainage is more forgiving, but foundation depth still has to suit the soil. We adapt the specification to what the ground actually does rather than applying a standard detail.

Renovation from concept to completion
A full renovation runs in stages. We start with a site survey and levels: measuring the ground, checking falls and drainage, working out what stays and what goes. Then clearance, stripping old paving, turf and structures. Groundworks and drainage follow: excavation, sub-base, drainage runs and foundations. Hard landscaping goes in next — patios, retaining walls, steps, edging and driveways, set to the levels we established. Planting beds, lawns and finishes go in last, and we leave the site tidy.
The same team carries the build from excavation to the last slab, so nothing is handed off mid-project. We don't subcontract the parts that matter.
