What driveway materials do you install?
Block paving, resin-bound gravel, loose gravel, tarmac, and pattern-imprinted concrete. Each has different characteristics for drainage, maintenance and appearance. We'll advise based on your brief.
Do I need planning permission for a new driveway?
For front driveways, permeable surfaces don't require planning permission. Impermeable surfaces over 5m² do unless drainage is directed to a lawn or border. We'll advise on this when we visit.
How important is the sub-base for a driveway?
Critical. A driveway takes vehicle loading and the base needs to be engineered accordingly: deeper and more compacted than a patio. We never reduce sub-base depth to save time.
Can you replace an existing driveway?
Yes. We lift the old surface, assess and replace the sub-base as needed, and install new. We'll let you know honestly if the base is salvageable.
Do you install edging and drainage as part of a driveway?
Yes. Containment edging, drainage channels and connection to existing drainage are all included as part of the installation. A driveway without proper drainage management will cause problems.
